The Monsoon Session begins on Monday and will have 19 sittings till August 12. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will also table the Economic Survey in Parliament on July 22. Supreme Court to hear pleas related to NEET-UG 2024 The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on July 22 a batch of petitions related to the controversy-ridden medical entrance exam, NEET-UG 2024, which was held on May 5. According to the cause list of July 22 uploaded on the apex court’s website, a bench comprising Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra would hear more than 40 pleas, including those filed by the NTA seeking transfer of cases pending against it in various high courts on the NEET-UG row to the Supreme Court to avoid multiplicity of litigations. Kanwar Yatra eateries row: Supreme Court to hear plea against Uttar Pradesh order The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on July 22 a plea against the Uttar Pradesh government’s order that eateries along the Kanwar Yatra route must display the names of their owners. A bench of justices Hrishikesh Roy and S V N Bhatti is likely to hear the plea filed by the NGO Association of Protection of Civil Rights. Supreme Court to hear plea to seize money received by parties under electoral bonds The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on July 22 a plea seeking a direction to the Centre and others to confiscate the amount received by various political parties under the now-scrapped electoral bonds scheme. Gujarat government ready to welcome Bhutan’s PM, King for their visit to Statue of Unity The King and Prime Minister of Bhutan will visit on July 22 the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue, and elaborate arrangements have been made for their arrival, said the Gujarat government. Both dignitaries will arrive at Vadodara airport around 11.15 am on July 22. From there, they will leave for Ektanagar where they will first visit the Statue of Unity.
