1. Biden: Hero Who Stopped Texas Church Shooter Was Wrong To Have A Gun
By Bre Payton
"The kind of gun being carried he shouldn't be carrying."
---------------------------------------------------------------
During a question and answer session on NBCâs âTodayâ show, former vice president and rumored presidential 2020 contender Joe Biden said the hero who stopped the Texas church shooter earlier this month should not have been allowed to carry an AR-15.
âWith the tragedy that just happened in Texas, how do you justify the Democratic view on gun control when the shooter was stopped by a man who was legally licensed to carry a gun?â a young woman in the audience asked Biden.

2. Inside Americaâs Largest Religious Revival You Know Nothing About
By Heather Smith For decades, demographic studies have indicated the steady decline of religion in America, but new measures suggest at least one religion in America is alive and well.
---------------------------------------------------------------
For decades, demographic studies have indicated the steady decline of religion in America, but new measures suggest that, on the contrary, at least one religion in America is alive and well, thriving in every community, and claiming devoted adherents in nearly every household.
This new religious revival has remained under the radar in large part because its adherents do not claim any religious attachment to this social institution, but by every measure of behaviors typically associated with religion, it is deceitful to label it as anything less. Although it shies away from adopting an overarching organization or name for itself, for the purposes of this study, it will be considered under the name Athletica.

3. To Avoid Debacles Like Roy Moore, Repeal The 17th Amendment
By John Daniel Davidson
Voters in Alabama might send Roy Moore to the U.S. Senate. Maybe itâs time to consider allowing state legislatures to elect senators again.
---------------------------------------------------------------
With less than a month to go before Alabamaâs special election to fill the Senate seat left vacant by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Republican candidate Roy Moore refuses to quit the race amid fallout over credible allegations of sexual assault dating from the 1970s, including that he initiated a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl when he was 32.
Some polls still show Moore leading his Democratic opponent Doug Jones, while a poll conducted by the National Republican Senate Committee earlier this week shows Moore trailing Jones by 12 points.

4. Liberalsâ Sudden Concern About Bill Clintonâs Behavior Is Cynical And Self-Serving
By David Harsanyi
It takes no courage to retroactively condemn the former president.
---------------------------------------------------------------
In the past few days a number of notable liberals have decided to take allegations of sexual assault against former president Bill Clinton seriously. Letâs just say that discarding the Clintons when theyâre no longer politically useful to retroactively grab the higher moral ground isnât exactly an act of heroism. But if weâre going to re-litigate history, letâs get it right.
âThat so many women have summoned the courage to make public their allegations against Weinstein, Bill Cosby, Roger Ailes, and Bill OâReillyâor that many have come to reconsider some of the claims made against Bill Clintonârepresents a cultural passage,â says David Remnick, editor of The New Yorker (my italics). It takes plenty of courage to face powerful men with sexual assault allegations. But how much courage needs to be summoned to âreconsiderâ Bill Clintonâs behavior now, more than 20 years after we first learned about it? Zero. Democrats pay no political price for going after the former president, nor will Clinton face any consequences.

5. Is The United Statesâ History Of Slavery And Racism Worse Than Other Countriesâ?
By Eugene Veklerov
Slavery and racism are global problems as old as humanity itself. By notable measures, the United States is among the most advanced countries in the world on these issues.
---------------------------------------------------------------
This article is a brief collection of published facts and figures I decided to compile after a conversation with a recent graduate who had studied racism and slavery in several college classes. The facts I cited contradicted everything she had learned from her professors and the books and TV programs they recommended. It sounded as if she and I had studied the histories of two parallel universes.
Her classmates and many other Americans share her beliefs. So I decided to chronicle these facts as a public service, as history is being completely rewritten right before our eyes.
