This news comes as a win for those of us committed to free and fair elections, but here’s the part the corporate media won’t tell you: there is more work to be done. Back in May, The Federalist was already ahead of the curve. On May 7th our Elections Correspondent, Brianna Lyman, reported that [over 224,000 voter registrations in North Carolina were missing crucial ID numbers](=.lVNivqUJga38gOjNeIuJTtCWElHQTIuM4xd1LjYtPug) like Social Security numbers and driver’s license information—key details required under federal law. This massive vulnerability left the system ripe for abuse. We detailed how, for years, North Carolina allowed these registrations to slide through, all while ignoring critical safeguards meant to ensure only eligible voters make it onto the rolls. Our report exposed how this failure compromised the integrity of their voter registration process. Now, with this new removal of 750,000 names, we’re finally seeing steps toward fixing a system that’s been broken for far too long. But it’s not enough. As we reported in May, more than 224,000 registrations were missing ID numbers. Thanks to The Federalist’s elections team and our commitment to digging into the truth, these issues are finally coming to light. This is exactly the kind of hard-hitting journalism the corporate media ignore—because they don’t want Americans to see that there are real, systemic problems that can undermine our elections. What sets The Federalist apart from other outlets when it comes to election coverage is our team’s understanding that the true measure of an election’s success lies not just in who wins or loses, but in the confidence that all participants—candidates and voters alike—have in the fairness and accuracy of the results. As we move closer to 2024, our team is working tirelessly to make sure every legal vote counts—and only legal votes count. With your support, we’ll continue holding election officials accountable and demanding transparency at every turn. Together, we’re ensuring that free and fair elections remain the cornerstone of our Republic. Thank you for standing with us in this fight!
