Sponsored by: April 29, 2022 Good morning traders, Good morning traders, Welcome back to The Daily Setup. Markets were up yesterday, but futures don’t look that bright heading into today. Here’s what’s on the docket: - Amazon sh*ts the bed in earnings - Apple warns of troubles on the horizon - Elliott’s coming for Suncor Energy Check out the meeting with the Bobs at the bottom… and yes, I realize I forgot to include links yesterday. [I fudged up guys](. Have a good weekend. Nick How'd the markets look? Market Outlook RCM Technologies is Looking Huge Biggest Mover [Activision Blizzard, Inc. ]( Yeah EVs and private rocketrey are pretty cool but the real money seems to be in IT and business technology solutions- at least that’s what RCM Technologies (RCMT) would lead us to believe. The company saw some astronomical gains on Thursday after posting a [Wednesday’s earnings call]( that demonstrated impressive growth. It may not be enough money to buy Twitter, but maybe it’s enough to claim Myspace? - This is the second straight quarter of record revenue for RCMT. For the quarter ending April 2nd they reported $82M. That’s a [+84% increase]( from the paltry $44.5M it brought in this time last year. - RCM’s speciality healthcare segment was its biggest leader, experiencing [+146.9% growth]( compared to the same quarter last year. If I’m going to make a bet on the business services sector, then it seems like RCM is your guy… as they’re seriously [outpacing competitors in gains](. It’s like pitting a mustang against a Model-T in a drag race. Apple and Amazon Lay it All Out There Street stories [Cycling Downhill] Remember FAANG? The once safe bet of investors everywhere has gone [out of whack]( since Netflix’s earnings debacle. There was some hope that other members of the exclusive club would hold steady as they reported their results this week. And while Facebook, eerrr, Meta, and Apple held up their ends of the bargain, Amazon took a crap on the floor and ruined everything. [AMZN]( and [APPL]( release their (contrasting) earnings calls yesterday, which saw their shares drop -3.98% and -9.67% respectively in after-hours. - Apple posted one of its best quarters ever, earning revenue of $97.3B (+8.6% YoY), led by iPhone sales beating expectations and raking in [$50.57B](.The reason for the drop was Tim Apple’s warning that the current quarter could see an $8B hit to sales [due to supply constraints](. - Amazon wasn’t sitting as pretty however. The e-commerce giant experienced a net loss of $3.8B, thanks in large part to their investment in Rivian, which is down 75% since their November 2021 IPO. What’s worse is the net loss is a far cry from the $4.4B profit expected by analysts and even further from last year’s [$8.1B]( profit. It would have been more surprising if Apple posted a loss, but the Amazon results are a sobering reminder that they aren’t invincible. Of course they aren’t going anywhere but FAANG is looking especially toothless these days. Check out Meeting with the Bobs at the bottom related to FAANG. Sponsored By: The Pharmacy of the Future📱 Going to the pharmacy to get your prescriptions isn't always easy — but it should be. [NowRx]( is rebuilding the retail pharmacy experience with amazing service plus free same-day prescription delivery and they’re looking for [investors to join them.]( The company’s proprietary pharmacy software “QuickFill and dispensing robotics can count, bottle, and label the medications in under 30 seconds” – all while dramatically reducing costs and common pharmacy errors. Best of all, unlike mail pharmacies, NowRx is local and uses their own HIPAA-certified employees to deliver medications which means no unexpected delays at the post office. All of that equals a fast, convenient, hassle-free experience for customers. In December, NowRx saw record revenue of nearly $2.2M putting them on pace for $26M on an annualized basis… But they have ambitions to do a whole lot more than that. The company has already announced new locations in Las Vegas, Seattle, and Denver for 2022 and with their newest Telehealth product growing like crazy (Over 1,200% in 2021) NowRx looks like a great investment for the new year. [Learn how you can own shares in this rapidly growing startup today.]( [Learn more about NowRx]( See Disclaimer Below CAR - Coin operated Token Talk [Token Talk] The Central African Republic is entering rare air, joining [El Salvador]( as only the second country in the world to [recognize bitcoin]( as a legal tender. The African nation will now accept bitcoin along with the already legal CAR Franc, after parliament voted unanimously to approve the venture. - The President of the CARs chief of staff said this was a “a decisive step toward opening up new opportunities for our country” - Despite a web based currency being legal tender, the CAR has only 11% internet coverage, and 71% of its population live below the poverty line. So this move is likely not for them. - The move, predictably, received praise from the crypto bro For a country that is no stranger to political instability in its short existence, a volatile currency should be a walk in the park, but the IMF believes otherwise. The International Monetary Fund has already been on El Salvador’s case, and will likely be making some calls to the CAR this week. Hey Suncor, Elliott’s coming Deals and Rumors [Deals and Rumors] Suncor Energy better draw the blinds and shut the lights off, as Elliott Investment Management [is at their door](. Suncor, the Canadian oil producer, has drawn the attention of activist investors Elliott due to missed production goals, high costs, and employee fatalities. One of those things seems more urgent than the others... depending on who you ask. - Elliott, in a letter to the board, called for a review of executive leadership and operations. - It also proposed five independent directors with expertise in Canadian energy–the kinder, more polite version of American energy. - Finally, Elliott wants to completely revise Suncor's operational culture, presumably to one where employees aren’t regularly dying at their jobs. If Elliott goes through with its master plan, it [estimates]( that it can drive Suncor’s stock price up 50% or more. As the news was announced, Suncor shares jumped 9.4%. It was close between not caring if they do and not liking it, but the overwhelming winner was that you guys approved of Congress members trading as long as you can track and copy Grandma Nancy’s stock movements. Today’s question: What should the new FAANG be? - [MAGA]( - Microsoft, Amazon, Google (Alphabet), Apple - [QUEEF]( - Quibi, Unitech, Enron, Enterprise Rent-a-car (bc they give you the tools to be your own boss), and Facebook (Meta) - Or Cramer’s write in- [MAMMA]( - Meta, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet 62 Calef Hwy #233 Lee, New Hampshire 03861 United States Questions or concerns about our products?
