Listen to it." - Richard Bach   [Learn more about RevenueStripe...]( You Get What You Deserve The Headline US and allies launch 100+ missiles at Syria The Grind The United States, France, and Britain joined forces this weekend to launch a coordinated missile strike against three sites linked to Syria's chemical weapons program. President Trump said the attack was "perfectly executed" and promised the US is "prepared to sustain this response until the Syrian regime stops its use of prohibited chemical agents." The airstrikes are in response to the poison gas attack that killed 43 people and wounded hundreds more last weekend in a rebel-held town near Damascus. The Details In the days leading up to the attack, Russia warned the US to stay out of Syria and threatened to defend its troops stationed there. This raised fears of direct conflict between US and Russian forces. Russia called for an emergency UNSC meeting Saturday, during which the council rejected Russia's resolution to condemn the US and its allies for the attack on Syria. Syria's other main ally, Iran, called the attack a "flagrant violation of international laws and a disregard for Syria's right of national sovereignty and territorial integrity." Russian ambassador Anatoly Antonov reiterated Friday night that an attack on Syria would "not be left without consequences" and that "all responsibility" lies with "Washington, London, and Paris." You probably know Steve Scalise as the lawmaker who was nearly killed last summer when he was shot in the hip while practicing for the annual Congressional Baseball Game. Scalise returned to Congress in October after several surgeries and said the experience "fortified" his view on gun rights. The Details Scalise told reporters last month he "wouldn't rule out" a campaign for speakership, but said Friday that he would not run against his "good friend" Kevin. "Scalise's focus remains on moving our conservative agenda forward and maintaining our Republican majority," said a spokesperson. "When a Speaker's race is called, he'll be supporting Leader McCarthy." McCarthy also has support from Paul Ryan, who told NBC that Kevin is "the right person." Speaker elections will take place after the November midterms. [share]( [tweet]( Good to the last drop Did you know... Each nostril of a human being register smell in a different way.
