It does, however, seem like the rich and famous fall fate to more exciting deaths. Take the Greek politician Draco, for example, who died when his adoring fans threw so many hats and cloaks onto him he suffocated. The Facts Famous astronomer Tycho Brahe: died when his bladder burst after refusing to interrupt a royal banquet by getting up to use the bathroom. Legendary escape artist Harry Houdini: died when his appendix burst after being repeatedly punched by a group of college students who decided to test Houdini's claim that his stomach could withstand any amount of force. Civil War-era lawyer Clement Vallandigham: accidentally shot himself while trying to prove how a victim in a case accidentally shot himself. American founding father and Congressman Gouverneur Morris: died from an infection after inserting a whalebone into his urethra while trying to clear a blockage from his urinary tract. Earlier this month, reports confirmed that over 1 million people had downloaded a fake app disguised as an update for the popular messaging service WhatsApp. Fake apps are nothing new, but the sheer number of downloads is unique. "These things are not getting enough scrutiny...why wouldn't an app that has a huge number of downloads receive a little additional security scrutiny?" asks Stephen Ridley, a security researcher who co-authored the Android Hacker's Handbook. The Facts The copycat app was called "Update WhatsApp" and featured the same icon that the real WhatsApp uses. The app has since been renamed to "Dual Whatsweb Update" and the developer is no longer using the same icon as the real WhatsApp. Lucky for those who downloaded it, the fake app was used only to make money through ads, not to hack users' information. "We see so many fake copies and fraudulent apps," says Mike Murray of mobile security firm Lookout. "It's always going to be a cat and mouse game between the bad guys and the good guys." When he died at age 50 he measured 7 feet 8 inches.
