QUOTE OF THE DAY
"Who was the drug dealer . . . El Cheapo?"
—A Facebook user [commenting on a photo]( of the Tenaha Police Department posted by KTRE-TV. The four officers are standing behind a table strewn with things they took during a drug bust—including some cash that appears to mostly be $1 bills. The photo went viral.

MEANWHILE, IN TEXAS...
[Seeing Sextuple?](
[via [Inside Edition](]
Splendora High School, just outside of Houston, has not one, not two, not three—OK, we'll get to the point—it has six sets of twins on its basketball teams. Three identical and three fraternal sets of twins are split between the girls and boys teams. We're not saying anything untoward is happening, but that's got to be an on-court advantage, right?
We’ll feature our favorite piece of weird news here each Wednesday. Tomorrow, and every Thursday, tune in for our weekly news quiz!

THE STATE OF TEXAS
Huntsville Watch
A Texas death row inmate [died by lethal injection]( on Tuesday, making him the 24th inmate to be executed in the U.S. this year (he was the 13th and last of the year in Texas). Alvin Braziel Jr. was sentenced to death for the 1993 killing of 27-year-old Douglas White. White and his wife, Lora, were walking along a jogging trail in Mesquite when Braziel jumped out from behind a bush and demanded money from the couple. He shot and killed Douglas, then sexually assaulted Lora. The Whites had only been married ten days at the time of the murder. The case went unsolved until 2001, when Braziel was imprisoned for sexual assault and DNA matched evidence from Lora's case.
Anything For Selenas
Netflix is [partnering with the family of the legendary Selena Quintanilla]( for Selena: The Series. Details are sparse: we don't know a premiere date, an episode count, or the length of the episodes, but we do know that we are very excited for the scripted coming-of-age story. "Selena will always have a lasting place in music history and we feel great responsibility to do justice to her memory. With this series, viewers will finally get the full history of Selena, our family, and the impact she has had on all of our lives," Selena's sister, Suzette Quintanilla, said Tuesday in a statement.
Confederate Conflict
Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush [called for the removal](of a plaque at the Capitol honoring the Confederacy. "The time has come for the Confederate plaque to come down," he wrote on Twitter. "These types of displays belong in museums, not our state capitol." The plaque states that the Civil War was "not a rebellion" and that slavery was not an "underlying cause." Earlier this year, amid calls from lawmakers for the plaque to come down, Governor Greg Abbott said that it was the legislature's responsibility to remove it.
