a love note from Tarzan ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

a love note from Tarzan ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  Hey 👋🏼 Just got back from my week off. I’m scrambling to write this email between dropping my car at the repair shop, a quick pit stop at the chiro, and school pick up in…let’s see here…22 minutes. First let me say: Thank you so much for [the Google reviews you left me]( 🙏🏼 My phone was pinging me all week long with new reviews—from my Google Maps app! (Google, why are you so weird? Ce traitement est-il réservé uniquement à moi?) What a rush of gratitude I got seeing familiar names register their support for my emails, my programs and my writing. I have the best email subscribers. Next let me say: [Email Stars]( sold out while I was on vacation 💃🏻 Wow, did that feel good! I didn’t do sales calls (which I really don’t mind except they take up time I’d rather spend writing) and I only sent three promo emails.* Sandra had to unschedule the last one. Within the next week or two I’ll be offering a DIY home study edition at a lower price just as an experiment, to see if this is also something people want. It’ll be great for business owners who want to get better at email marketing and copywriting but don’t want to (or can’t) do a live program, for whatever reason. Now for the fun stuff… Here’s how I spent my week off: - Listening the The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See, in bed with coffee - Removing 52 handles from my kitchen cabinets - Painstakingly polishing the aforementioned handles for 5 straight hours two days in a row - Watching Emily In Paris until 2am en français (less of a guilt-watch when I’m brushing up my French) - Having a birthday lunch with my big sis who just turned 40 - Assembling bookshelves from Ikea with the help of Sandra and her sweet family - Doing a photoshoot with [Darius Bashar]( (didn’t technically get a full week off but I had to do it to make my website launch timeline) - Hanging my canoe in the garage (see P.S. for pic!) - Baking banana bread with my kids - Buying more rugs from Ruggable—I prefer to think of this as “investing in art” - Stacking two cords of firewood that ended up being too wet and muddy to pay for in good conscience (it’s being removed from my garage as I write these words) - Polishing cabinet handles - Polishing more cabinet handles - I mentioned the cabinet handles, right? *pauses to go pick up children from school* (that's what I got written in 22 minutes, JFYI) Here is a before / after so you can properly appreciate the cabinet transformation: [pair of cabinet handles on the left are greasy, brown and dull and do not look like something you'd want to touch, or the right is a pair of shiny silver handles that look something vintage-chic that you'd pay a lot of money for] If you haven’t left a Google review yet, please do not forget to mention that I am a known expert in the field of cabinet-handle polishing—the original Bar Keeper’s Friend! (You can do that [here]( btw.) I had planned to paint the cabinets a nice creamy brown colour on my week off, until my sis pointed out that they are already creamy brown. HOW DID I NOT NOTICE THAT?! Anyway, good thing because the handles alone took fckn forever. If the next person to visit my house does not comment on the shine of those handles at least three times I may have to schedule an emergency consultation with my therapist! Today while driving to Henley Honda listening to [my current favorite jam]( (Many Men by Pheelz—I’m very into afrobeats rn), my face lit up with happiness for no specific reason. I have been through a battle these last eighteen months, the hardest of my life. I had to fight so hard for my joy, and now here it is. I don’t know yet if it’s real or how long it will stay, but in this moment I just feel really fckn grateful. Thanks for so much being a subscriber, even if you didn’t leave a review or have never bought anything from me. It has been deeply supportive to have so many of you come on this journey with me, reading my work and investing in my program. I will never stop being grateful. Thank you thank you thank you Tarzan P.S. Here is my handiwork in the garage, in case you want to also review me on task rabbit! Available for odd jobs but only if you have a drill since mine is a loaner. [A skin-on-frame canoe hangs on the wall of a large garage, in front of two large windows that light up the room. the floor is full of scraps and there are tools scattered everywhere. Tarzan smiles into the camera in this proud selfie.] *For added context, I have something like 14K subscribers so 20 sales can (and really should) be this much of a cinch. Nurturing my list is the only marketing I do rn and I know I’m good at it. But it’s , still a relief to know that this works. Want to access your fave emails on the go? Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
