Celebrate Pi Day with These Recipes

Remember being convinced that you'd never use any of that stuff you learned in math class in real life? I certainly felt that way, and it's true that I don't have to solve for X very often as an adult, or calculate which of those trains that left Chicago is getting to where it's going first. (I mean, aren't there timetables for this?) But one concept that comes up at least once a year is π. Remember pi? That's the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, or the distance around a pastry crust divided by the length of a straight cut across it. It's equal to about 3.14 and [we celebrate this glorious mathematical constant every March 14]( with the most exquisitely circular thing found in nature: pie. While Pi Day may not be celebrated on the federal level yet, [I urge you to join me in observing it tonight at the dinner-table level](.
