Israel will only end its brutal occupation of Palestine when the economic cost is too high. General Mills — owner of Häagen-Dazs and Pillsbury — continues to run business in illegal Israeli settlements. Call on General Mills to stand up to apartheid? [ Sign the petitionÂ]( In the Occupied West Bank, Israelis steal land to build homes. Palestinians have their land stolen and homes demolished. Israelis can get a fair trial. Palestinians cannot. {NAME}, this is apartheid. And General Mills, the $65 billion business that owns brands from Häagen-Dazs to Pillsbury, is complicit in this gross human rights violation by overseeing a factory on stolen Palestinian land. We’ve already convinced Ben & Jerry’s to pull their support from the settlements. If we can make General Mills move as well, we might finally have the momentum we need. [Call on General Mills to stop upholding apartheid policies.]( Ben & Jerry's just became the first large global corporation to pull out of the Illegally Occupied Palestinian Territories in years. And multiple sources inside the company said that the 50,000 SumOfUs members that took action had a huge impact on the decision. Häagen-Dazs’ parent company should be next -- in a damning report, the United Nations found General Mills complicit in violating Palestinian human rights. And if Häagen-Dazs' parent company would join Ben & Jerry’s, it would be the start of a corporate movement to exit apartheid Israel similar to the corporate exit of South Africa in the 80s. We know multiple companies are on the verge of joining the movement -- since Ben & Jerry's announcement, we've been busy meeting with high level corporate staff to talk about their company's exit plans from 'apartheid' Israel. Today is General Mills annual meeting and this is a great time to put on the pressure for company to stop being complicit in gross human rights violations. [Tell General Mills: pull your factory out of illegally occupied Palestine.]( [ Sign the petitionÂ]( Thanks for all that you do, Angus and the team at SumOfUs More information: [UN releases long-delayed list of companies operating in Israel's West Bank settlements]( CBC, February 13th, 2020 [We’re Ben and Jerry.
