Per reports from The Western Journal, Floyd stands as the sole defendant among a group of 19 in the case who was denied a consent bond order, a provision that would have enabled him to enter a plea and secure his release. This information was also corroborated by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. On the day of his surrender, Floyd took to social media, sharing a video of his arrival in Atlanta. The caption accompanying the video read, "May the Lord Protect Me During My Time in These Streets." Floyd is facing charges related to violating Georgia's RICO Act, conspiring to solicit false statements and documents, and tampering with witnesses. The indictment asserts that he endeavored to persuade election worker Ruby Freeman to falsely report misconduct during the election. However, the reason why Floyd hasn't been granted a consent bond order by the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office remains unclear. In an unrelated incident earlier this year, The Washington Post disclosed that Floyd was charged in May for an altercation that occurred in February. During this incident, Floyd purportedly assaulted an FBI agent who was serving him a subpoena at his residence in Rockville, Maryland. The subpoena was linked to special prosecutor Jack Smith's inquiry into Trump. Floyd's defense argues that he acted in self-defense, contending that the agents failed to adequately establish their credentials during the encounter. A mugshot of Floyd has been released, revealing his role as the leader of Black Voices for Trump. He remains in police custody at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has requested a trial date of October 23, 2023, for the case. Legal experts express skepticism about the feasibility of this timeline, particularly as Willis has expressed her desire to try all 19 defendants jointly. The charges are rooted in Georgia's RICO statute, typically employed to target individuals involved in organized criminal activities.
