And how to trade it… ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

And how to trade it… ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Good Morning! Although Nasdaq favorites like NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ: [NVDA]( Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ: [TSLA]( and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: [AAPL]( are selling off from their highs… There’s another sector that’s starting to take off. We’ve played it many times in the past ... And there are reasons to believe it could heat up again. Today I'll share what I’ll look for in this sector for potential opportunities, and I’ll share my trading approach. The Sector Bucking the Market Trend Large-cap energy stocks like Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: [OXY]( and Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE: [XOM]( were up 1%-2% yesterday while the overall markets were red. The sudden gap up and spike in these behemoth stocks was spiked by analysts’ projections that crude oil could hit [$100 per barrel in the fourth quarter](. The price climb will apparently be a result of increased demand and lower output. While this news is fresh and we don’t know yet if these headlines and projections will play out… If they do, I want to be ready. And I want you to be ready to. Because if [oil and gas stocks]( continue to rise, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the opportunities spill over into sympathy plays in small-cap stocks. Stocks like Imperial Petroleum Inc. (NASDAQ: [IMPP]( and Indonesia Energy Corporation Limited (AMEX: [INDO]( went on monster runs last year when the Russia/Ukraine conflict ignited. So these former runners could run again… IMPP chart: 2-year, daily candle — courtesy of [StocksToTrade.com]( INDO chart: 2-year, daily candle — courtesy of [StocksToTrade.com]( (neither of those stocks traded for the prices on the chart — they’ve done reverse splits which changes the stock price.) Here’s how I’d play the sympathy plays in small caps if oil continues to climb… Why We Love Sympathy Plays And How to Trade Them Sympathy plays are fantastic because they're straightforward and offer incredible trading opportunities. When you see a hot sector in the market or a specific stock start to run on a macro headline, it can create [sympathy plays]( in other stocks in the sector. As the sector leaders start gaining momentum and attracting attention, it triggers a chain reaction. Low-priced sympathy plays suddenly come to life. These stocks can surge exponentially, sometimes by hundreds or even thousands of percent. Sympathy plays offer a way to benefit from the rise of a [hot sector]( without the limitations of trading only one stock. Since we’re going to be looking for small-cap oil and gas sympathy plays, the way to trade them is the same as how we approach every crappy penny stock… We don’t believe in them — these low-priced stocks aren’t going to be the next OXY or XOM. And we approach them by looking for the same [patterns and criteria we always look for]( We want to see tons of volume and a news catalyst that hits the specific stock or sector. We’ll also look for and focus on those [low-float stocks]( that have the potential to explode like IMPP and INDO did. How To Stay On Top of The Hottest Sectors & Stocks Hot sectors and stocks come and go quickly — the market is constantly shifting. And you need to keep your finger on the pulse of the market to know where the next opportunity lies… Luckily for you, we’re here to help you out.
