Breaking Analysis & upcoming broadcasts [On theCUBE Pod: The app tsunami is coming and analysts weigh in on the AI wars]( The enterprise AI battle is brewing, as consumer trends conform to business affinities, and computing infrastructure strives to keep pace. On this week's edition of Pod]( our analysts dig into Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg's take on the Quest3 vs. the Apple VisionPro, along with the addition of Broadcom CEO Hock Tan to Meta's board. John Furrier and Dave Vellante also provide a preview of theCUBE's upcoming live broadcast of Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona and give the analyst perspective on the rapidly rising battle for enterprise AI domination. "It's very clear to me that the AI from last year's hype is moving into a discussion of how this is going to impact architecture," Furrier said. "This is not new to us; we've been talking about this. But you're starting to see real, substantive conversations around where AI is going to fit in."   Read the summary article and watch the full episode [Watch the full episode]( [Cloud optimization wanes as AI slowly lifts off]( In the latest Analysis]( we update you on our most current hyperscale cloud spending and market share data. We’ll analyze the ETR survey data on cloud optimization, assess the generative AI updraft for the big three U.S. cloud players and look at some of the industry trend data on cloud spend by platform.   The past 24 months have seen cloud spending face dual headwinds of macroeconomics and the ability to dial down resources as needed, in cloud optimization for example. Nonetheless, the big four hyperscalers clocked in between $170-190 billion in IaaS and PaaS revenue last year.   While AI gets all the headlines, its contribution to revenue is still a small fraction of the overall spending pie. For example, we estimate that Microsoft’s AI services accounted for around $800 million this past quarter. But the trajectory for AI services and the potential uplift looks promising for all four hyperscalers. We think collectively the generative AI uplift in cloud will surpass $10B billion this year.   “There are many risks to this scenario, not the least of which is the macro environment and the law of large numbers kicking in as well as competition,” Vellante said. “But our current thinking is we're at the tail end of cloud optimization. We're going to shift to new network enablement.”   You can read the latest Breaking Analysis.
