TheCUBE analysts weigh in with real-time reporting [What the analysts expect at Dell Tech World and Red Hat Summit 2023]( In this week’s [Breaking Analysis]( Dave Vellante transcends the noise of today's compounding artificial intelligence conversation to incorporate another important IT trend: supercloud. While buzzwords such as AI are ubiquitous in tech news streams, insiders suggest that there are promising solutions beyond the buzz. The spring conference season provides an opportunity to get more serious and extract what is important from the industry noise as the enterprise seeks out the best AI use cases.  Bubbling ecosystems support new use cases This week, the tech industry is gearing up for several major conferences, including Microsoft Build in Seattle, Red Hat Summit in Boston and Dell Technologies World in Las Vegas. The conversational throughline is “supercloud,” where AI models play a crucial role in automating away the complexities of multicloud mayhem. Red Hat and Dell Technologies are among those at the forefront of this conversation for their bubbling enterprise ecosystems.  “[We] expect to see more and more ecosystem partner affinity beyond just VMware," Vellante wrote in his analysis of Dell. VMware’s former majority shareholder. "We continue to expect [Dell’s] move up the stack with partnerships the likes of Snowflake and Starburst, and data management. We'd like to see more: Dell's data management strategy is still unclear, and we think they're still trying to figure it out.”  Assessing the spring tech season Digging into data from a recent Enterprise Technology Research survey, Vellante reviews significant players in the hybrid/ cross-cloud space, including Cloudflare, Equinix, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, IBM, Oracle and VMware. And ahead of the week’s conference lineup, Vellante provides an analyst perspective on what to expect at Red Hat Summit and Dell Tech World, predicting that AI can only strengthen Red Hat’s strong position in infrastructure software and Dell’s comprehensive suite of services.  Get the AI angle on tech’s top events this week, as theCUBE analysts seek out business use cases for the emerging supercloud [here](. New [episodes]( every Friday! [Get the full report]( [Think like a robot to avoid the AI overlords]( It seems too early to predict the outcome of artificial intelligence technology, but theCUBE Pod analysts John Furrier and Dave Vellante agree on one thing: Increased regulation is needed to ensure safety and control over the rapidly evolving technology. For [episode 12]( they discussed OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s testimony before a Senate Judiciary subcommittee urging the U.S. government to consider multi-stakeholder processes that incorporate input from a range of experts and organizations to develop and update appropriate safety standards. They also covered the Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of Google on Section 230, emerging enterprise AI use cases, Elon Musk’s criticism of the laptop class and upcoming tech events to be covered by theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s roving news desk. The Senate-AI showdown Furrier applauded Altman’s Senate presentation and insight into the potential negative impact of AI, While Vellante compared the AI industry to the early days of the internet, marking ChatGPT as a significant measure in AI advancement. Vellante cautioned society not to get too ahead of itself, yet those with foresight and access could leverage the wildly disruptive nature of AI during this era of limited regulation.   “Sam Altman was asked, well, how are you gonna make money? So, I think the ones that are gonna be left behind are the ones that don't lean into it and try to figure out how they can get a unique competitive advantage.” New tech, new monopolies? Some in the industry have pointed to technology monopolies, such as Mark Zuckerberg, when calling for more oversight, as companies with such power should be monitored for the betterment of society. Furrier wondered if the future of AI might resemble the past. Comparing Bard to ChatGPT, he said: “You know, you'd be in AOL in chat rooms, like 'this is incredible.' And you look back and it really [wasn’t]. So I find that I'm blown away by ChatGPT and Bard and all the AI momentum.” Watch our experts put the future AI in real-world, present-day context.
