When Elon Musk bought Twitter, he sent me a DM that said, “Do you want the Babylon Bee restored? There will be no censorship of humor.” ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏   Friend, When Elon Musk bought Twitter, he sent me a DM that said, “Do you want the Babylon Bee restored? There will be no censorship of humor.” We’ve been trying to write a joke worth $44 billion ever since. But, in all seriousness – free speech is no joke (not even a multibillion dollar one). The Bee would know – not only did Twitter deplatform us, but other woke Big Tech firms have tried to silence our voice as well. - Facebook has deleted our posts and deactivated our account on several occasions. - Front, our internal email service at the time, terminated our account and left us unable to communicate with each other and wider world. - And, in a particularly ironic move, Vimeo permanently suspended the David Horowitz Freedom Center’s account because they posted a talk I gave on censorship. It’s clear woke, left-wing tech elitists can’t abide by satire that dares mock their progressive orthodoxy. We’re not the only attempted victims of their censorship regime, either. They’ve gone after our First Amendment ally Musk, too – Disney, Apple, IBM, and Sony are just some of the companies who have pulled their advertising from X to protest the fact that it platforms the Bee and others accused of “wrongthink.” All this amounts to a sustained, coordinated attack on free thought and expression. These pillars are central to our mission of speaking truth through humor. No matter how much pressure they exert, the Bee will never back down. Free speech is worth more than whatever they can take from us. To people with integrity, like Musk, principles are worth more than money. But we won’t give them what they want. We won’t stop telling jokes. More importantly, we won’t stop telling the truth. [Join The Fight - Subscribe to The Babylon Bee]( Sure, you may be thinking, a billionaire like Musk can afford to take the hit when radical Leftists try to force X into conformity and submission. That’s what we thought, too, but we noticed something in the midst of the censorship campaigns waged against us – we had a superpower progressives couldn’t see. And that’s our subscribers. The Bee could not have taken the stand it did against Twitter if we did not have the support of each and every subscriber. These are people who appreciate humor, yes, but also believe in free speech. Who appreciate debate, dialogue, and discovering new ideas. [If that sounds like you, I hope you’ll consider subscribing to the Babylon Bee. We’d love to have you in the fight for freedom of expression.]( [Yes, I'll Stand With The Babylon Bee]( They can hurt us, smear us, reduce our reach; but they can never silence us with free speech supporters like you in our corner.
