Don't be this guy at the gun range Hi there, , A few days ago, my “Second Hand Embarrassment?

Don't be this guy at the gun range Hi there, , A few days ago, my “Second Hand Embarrassment” turned to 11…   I was at the range and here was this guy, in complete “tacticool” loadout…   I'm talking all black clothes…   “Punisher skull” plate carrier…   2 pistols holstered across his plate carrier…   And 2 more holstered in loosely fitted drop leg holsters hanging almost to his knees.   He came to the range to show off his brand-new SIG SAUER pistol in 10mm...   But this thing was just loaded with cheap-tier aftermarket accessories —NcStar laser, red-dot, rebel silencer, 0-light … all the things.   While loudly unpacking his gear, he attracted a small crowd of folk who looked more amused than impressed.   (I have to admit — I was part of that crowd.)   And as he mumbled something about "hits harder than those p*ssy 9mm and 'fowty-five' rounds"   He lined up the target and fired off one shot…   Now, not only did this shot go way off-target…   But what happened next was even MORE EMBARRASSING…   'Cause as he lined up his 2nd shot from his fancy tricked out gun…   Instead of getting the loud bang of a 10mm round…   All we got was a 'CLICK'.   "Ah jeez, this darn ammo is giving me problems," he said.   Some snickers from the group... (not gonna deny- I was part of it.)   So he racked the slide and didn't seem to realize he extracted a (unfired) round.   He fired... again, just once.   Another failure, this time Failure to Extract (FTE).   Now, once can happen to anyone, but twice in a row means:   #1 Something's wrong with the ammo, as was Mr. Tacticool's opinion — but that didn't seem to be it because it was a reputable brand and the ammo looked new.   #2 Bad grip or limp wristing causes the pistol to not fully cycle: Surprisingly, his grip was fairly OK. Nothing amazing, but it looked firm.   #3 Mechanical problems... BINGO.   See, in all his effort to kit out his gun with suppressors, optics, and laser sights…   He forgot the MOST important gun 'accessory'...   It's the one that makes sure his fancy black SIG doesn't turn into a rusty POS…   The one that makes sure the slide goes all the way back, so it ejects his spent ammo…   And the one that makes sure his weapon ACTUALLY FIRES when he needs to.   So when I stepped out of the grinning group of onlookers, I asked Mr. Tactical what he used to lube his SIG.   "Naw, you need not oil these, didn't y'all know? Them's self-lubricating polymer."   I was actually kinda stunned…   And now more worried than ever about the 3 other firearms he was carrying…   So I got my own gun lubricant out of my bag and asked him if he'd mind if I opened up his SIG to see what the problem was.   I had to flash my Instructor Cert before he was OK with it…   Then I stripped it and quickly put some Nano Gun Guard lubricant on the slide, barrel, and other components…   (All while his hawk eyes studied my fingers carefully, either making sure I wasn't messing with anything or because it was the first time he saw the inside of his SIG.)   I aimed it down range and fired off a round…   And I saw the spent case finally escaping the chamber like a freed parakeet…   As did the next 5.   I offered if he’d like some lube for his other guns.   "Might could" he replied after a few seconds of stunned silence.   And that's where this one ends. He ended up ordering the Nano Gun Guard, so I'm looking forward to seeing him do well on the range next time.   So here's my conclusion — he was obviously a beginner trying to look like a badass, experienced gunslinger.   And my tip to any gun owner: if you get a new or used firearm... the first thing you do is read the manual, strip it, clean and lube it up…   Unless you want to look like this guy and hear a bunch of guys snickering behind you. (Although most newbies are forgiven... it's just this guy looked like he should've known better).   By the way, if you want your hands on some Nano Gun Guard lubricant too, then   [Click here](   It's THE LUBRICANT used by military operators, as it ensures your weapon WILL fire when you need to…   Whether that's when you're dealing with a stranger in your home who charges you with your own kitchen blade…   Or when you want to impress folks at the range..   Be safe out there and lube up your guns,   Eric.   P.S. We often run out of stock on this Space-Age Gun Lube and have a waiting list running when we do. So if you want yours within a few days, get it now before we run out.
