[RPGnet Forums]( RPGnet Newsletter #187 October 15, 2019 {NAME}, here is this week's RPGnet Newsletter! New Columns Christopher Cecil's Fuzzy Thinking is back with two more gaming comic lists: the [Top Ten Perks to Being a Mage]( and [Top Ten Least Scary Villain Threats.]( And, Thomas Robbins talked about [Aligning Motivations]( of players and characters in the latest issue of Character Class. New Reviews Edward A Kabara reviewed the [ESPer Genesis Core Manual,]( a serious sci-fi RPG using the D&D 5e rules chassis. Shannon Appelcline reviewed the [Pathfinder Adventure Card Game Core Set]( - a terrific revision of the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game system, with more evocative and better polished play, held back only by its too-small card count. Antonios S reviewed several products for the Fallout: Wasteland Warfare minis game. - The [Nuka-Cola Girl]( is pretty, deadly, and refresing. - The [Crashed Vertibird]( has a perceptible Fallout feel if you paint it in a retro sci-fi style, on the other hand however it can fit any setting if you just dress it differently. - The [Nuka Notebook]( is a must-have tchotchke for fans of the setting. - The [Red Rocket Scenic Set]( is a brilliant idea for a starting product, yet the way this is packaged means that the most important of its contents might already be damaged. - The [Nuka-Cola Caps Set]( is fully thematic and even partially useful when the caps are used as tokens. - The [Raiders Core Box]( offers cool minis, but no rules to go with them. - Oh - here are the rules, in the [Raiders Wave Expansion Card Pack.]( Antonios also surveyed the [Scythe: Modular Board,]( a modular map providing new game options, but maybe poor balance. Antonios also reviewed several gaming accessories to bring some function and fancy to your gaming table: - [John Carter of Mars: Landscape and Location Card Deck / Landscape Art Location Deck,]( - [John Carter of Mars: Zodanga Dice Set,]( - [John Carter of Mars: Prince of Helium Notebook,]( - [John Carter of Mars Tile Sets: Airships of Barsoom Tile Set, Ruins of Korad Tile Set,]( and the - [Star Trek Adventures Miniatures: Iconic Villains.]( Speaking of accessories, Cedric Chin continued his look at Tiny Furniture with a review of the wonderfully detailed [Scriptorium Copyist Desk.]( And, Ben Norman reviewed [AM3: Bughunters,]( a venerable TSR adventure for Amazing Engine that makes a great resource for any game of space marines against vicious aliens. Threads You Might Have Missed Looking for an underused milieu for your next weird fantasy game? [Whalepunk.]( Need a fresh take on a venerable supers villain? [Re-thinking Ultron for supers gaming.]( And, if you have any interest in the financial workings of the RPG industry, check out this thread: [Tell me about pay in the RPG industry.]( Sign Off Have a good week, everyone. - Iustum Newsletter Editor [Unsubscribe from mailing list]( [Visit RPGnet Forums](
