[RPGnet Forums]( RPGnet Newsletter #173 May 21, 2019 {NAME}, here is this week's RPGnet Newsletter! Edward A Kabara reviewed several RPG products: - The [Castles & Crusades Players Handbook 7th Printing]( is a solid entry in the Old School Revolution that is embracing the advances of d20 system, at least for the mechanics. - [Keeping It Classy: The Barbarian]( is a third-party D&D 5e supplement that has enough fun content that even non-barbarian players will want to pick it up. - [Professor Evil and the Citadel of Time]( is a co-op board game with simple mechanics, great art, quick to read rules, and great components. Tim Bannock reviewed [Uncaged Volume I,]( first of a four-part compilation of D&D 5e adventures that is well-produced and features a tight, unifying theme. Tim also reviewed [Twisted Mithral,]( a D&D 5e supplement that offers up Mad Max meets Dungeons and Dragons. Cedric Chin took a look at the [Quest Board,]( a plot-dispensing mini that will liven up your table. Endzeitgeist braved [Fear Itself 2nd Edition,]( learning that the second edition is no longer a hack for Esoterrorists, but rather a modular, nice stand-alone horror game. And, the week wound up with a bunch of OSR reviews from Endzeitgeist: - [Wormskin #6]( is the longest entry in the series and presents a very distinctly British strangeness. - [The Domenwood Calendar]( is a lunar calendar that may find use in any number of games. - [Stonehell Dungeon #2: Into the Heart of Hell]( contains years worth of gaming material for a group that wants to explore its depths. - [P/X: Basic Psionics Handbook]( offers mostly-workable psionics rules for B/X. - [Bird of a Feather]( offers a solid, if linear hunting sidetrek for companion piece Whisper & Venom. Threads You Might Have Missed A short thread, but it covers some facets of an issue common to lots of RPGs: [Keeping abstract position fair.]( Interesting thread here on the intent and use of physical attributes in RPGs: [Does Strength deserve to be an attribute?]( Another short thread, but it has some great ideas on what might be causing conflict between the local noble houses/trade guilds/unions/what-have-you in your game: [Minor House Conflict Ideas.]( Sign Off Have a good week, everyone. - Iustum Newsletter Editor [Unsubscribe from mailing list]( [Visit RPGnet Forums](
