Zuckerberg avoids Contempt of Congress... for now

He said Meta Platforms picking a fight with the GOP would not cost Mark Zuckerberg. And sure enough, the Republicans backed down. He said: Even if the GOP goes after Meta Platforms, that may not cost him much, given that the press and corporate America want him to censor more, not less.
And yesterday, GOP Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan pulled back from holding Mark Zuckerberg in Contempt of Congress. He claims they received new documents. He tweeted (or posted on X, whatever the new term is): Never-before-released internal documents subpoenaed by the Judiciary Committee PROVE that Facebook and Instagram censored posts and changed their content moderation policies because of unconstitutional pressure from the Biden White House. He's leaving the option of holding Zuckerberg in Contempt of Congress open for the future. Yet it's difficult not to see this as a blink. Besides, the White House is hardly going to side with the GOP on this, given that the Republicans are blaming President Biden himself. META was up more than 4% yesterday.
In the long run, the stock market does reflect financial realities. It may also reflect the realities of political power.
Let's see what the GOP does next. Keep Moving, Corey Snyder
