It’s time. [Welcome to RiskHedge] Today, I’m making a big change in my life. Let me quickly explain my new passion project… and how it affects you. If you’re anything like me, you’re fed up with the corporate media’s constant fearmongering and pessimism. The news has always skewed negative, but the data proves it’s objectively worse now than ever. Positive news that doesn’t fit the narrative is literally censored. I’ve tried to do my little part to shift the narrative with the “dose of optimism” in my letters. Many of you told me you love this feature in The Jolt. But what I haven’t revealed until now is I’ve been on a recruitment mission. Over the past year I’ve travelled all over the world, meeting with founders, thinkers, innovators, and wealth-creators to join me in a new group we call the Rational Optimist Society. The Rational Optimist Society is inspired by my friend Matt Ridley’s bestselling book, The Rational Optimist. It’s one of the most important books ever written. We once bought several hundred copies for RiskHedge members, because the ideas within are so essential to investing success. As a RiskHedge reader, you already know “pessimists sound smart, optimists make money.” But this is about more than making money. The Rational Optimist Society circumvents the media and lets you connect directly with innovators and entrepreneurs who know the future, because they’re the ones creating it! I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” It’s true, which means the people you surround yourself with really matters. Thanks to the internet, you can find (or create) a group that shares your values, without having to live in the same location. That’s what I’m doing with the Rational Optimist Society: building a tribe of rational optimists to disrupt the corporate media and inspire our kids to achieve great things. I love technology, entrepreneurs, innovators, and the wealth they create. More people should know about all the accelerating breakthroughs making our world a better place. Did you know there are now gene-editing eyedrops that can cure certain kinds of blindness? Did you know supersonic jets that can fly from NYC to London in under 3 hours are coming back? Did you know America has cut its total carbon emissions by 20%... while growing its economy by $5 trillion thanks to… drumroll please… fracking? But all you hear from the corporate media is despair and alarm, which gets amplified by social media algorithms. Here’s why this matters to you. I’m inviting you to join me (for free) as a Founding Member of the Rational Optimist Society. You’ll be joining Matt Ridley, John Mauldin, and other names you may recognize. When you do, you’ll receive the members-only Rational Optimist Diary, written by me, on Sunday mornings. It will do three things for you: 1)Keep you in the know on breakthrough technologies transforming our world. 2)Keep you connected with the incredible entrepreneurs and innovators creating prosperity for all. 3)Unplug you from the matrix. You’ll receive facts and stories to share with your kids and grandkids to show them the future is bright, and the world isn’t doomed. You may wonder: why now? My son and daughter will soon be of the age where they start to learn about the world. The toxicity of corporate + social media has very real consequences on kids. Did you know a record high share of 12th graders say, “It’s hard to have hope for the world?” We must reverse that trend. Let’s show our kids how bright the future can be. Their future, and our future, depends on it. The Rational Optimist Society is separate from RiskHedge because it’s not strictly focused on investing. I routinely learn of incredible technologies that I don’t tell you about in RiskHedge content because they’re too early-stage and not yet investible for most people. The Rational Optimist Society is my new outlet to share these stories and grow our tribe. If what I’ve said resonates with you, you really want to be in on the ground floor with us. [Go here to join me as a Founding Member of the Rational Optimist Society](. And when you join before the deadline, you’ll get Founding Member status. Onward and upward!
