Fresh Produce, Coming to a Dollar General Near You September 25, 2024 | [Read Online]( Fresh Produce, Coming to a Dollar General Near You Todayâs News! Cartoon of the Day Top News Produce at Dollar General: Why This is a Critical Move Dollar General has expanded its offerings to include fresh produce in over 5,000 stores across the U.S., surpassing even Walmart in the number of locations providing fresh fruits and vegetables. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to address food deserts in rural and underserved areas, where access to fresh, nutritious food is limited. The introduction of produce in these stores, which often serve communities with populations of 20,000 or fewer, is seen as a significant step towards improving dietary options for millions, potentially impacting health outcomes by making fresh foods more accessible. However, Dollar General's move into fresh produce sales comes with challenges, including the complexities of managing perishable goods within a business model known for low operational costs and minimal staffing. Critics and observers note that while this expansion could benefit communities by reducing food deserts, it also raises questions about sustainability, profitability, and the overall impact on local economies and existing small grocery stores. Despite these concerns, the demand from customers and the strategic use of AI for inventory management suggest that Dollar General is committed to this new direction, aiming to balance convenience, affordability, and health in its offerings. Advertisement Youâve likely heard people say: âMoney is the root of all evil.â But thatâs a lie. The Apostle Paul actually states: âThe LOVE of money is a root of all kinds of evil.â Itâs the LOVE of money thatâs evil. Greed leads to lying, cheating and stealing to fill an endless appetite for more. This also leads one to take on risky investments. âGreedy people try to get rich quick, but donât realize theyâre headed for poverty,â Solomon warns in Proverbs 28:22. But thereâs another type of financial sin thatâs even more dangerous, and more common. And odds are, youâre committing this sin ⦠as itâs masked as being âconservativeâ and âsmart.â Itâs the love of money that is so great, one does not dare risk losing any of it.
Â
They hoard it. They stuff it in a bank account, a CD, gold or some other safe asset. And yes, thatâs a sin. If that sounds harsh, donât get mad at me. In the parable of the talents (Matthew 25), the master entrusts his three servants with his money. After a long time, when the master returns, the man who got five talents (a lot of money) created five more through his investments. The one who got two, created two more. The master rewarded these men by entrusting them with even more, saying: âWell done, good and faithful servant. But the servant who got one talent was afraid and buried it.He told his master:âI was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, hereâs what belongs to you.â The master scorned the saver, saying: âYou wicked and lazy servant!â He took the one talent and gave it to the others. So, let me ask you: Are you that third servant? Are you afraid of losing the money God has entrusted to you? Have you âburiedâ it? Yes, you should give some away through tithes and offerings. And God clearly states, âTest me with this, and see if I will not throw open to floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room to store it.â (Malachi 3:10.) But donations can only go so far. I believe, like the servants in the parable, we are called to invest Godâs money. We really need to think about how we can change the world by investing in the right businesses. In a heartfelt interview, former Governor Mike Huckabee reveals his most-trusted investing strategy â something you can do with the money God has entrusted you. He calls it âa miracle,â and itâs already changed thousands of lives! My hope is that he will say: âWell done, good and faithful servant.â [Click here to see how our team can help...](
