The Biden administration is breaking new ground-or rather, breaking new norms-by letting First Lady Jill Biden run a Cabinet meeting. Yes, you read that right. Not only is it the first Cabinet meeting in nearly a year (a year, folks, as if there's nothing important going on), but the First Lady, who isn't elected, doesn't hold office, and lacks any security clearance, is suddenly front and center, speaking on behalf of the administration. And while President Biden fumbled his way through the introduction with a casual "It's all yours, kid," the internet exploded in disbelief. Let's be clear-this isn't just an ordinary blip in the news cycle. It's a moment that has Republicans, and frankly, anyone with a sense of accountability, scratching their heads. Andrea Tantaros, former Fox News host, hit the nail on the head when she posted on X (formerly Twitter), "I'm unsure which part is more disturbing. 1. That the White House held its first Cabinet meeting in a year; or... 2. Jill Biden is leading the first White House Cabinet meeting in a year." Exactly, Andrea. When was the last time the country was in such good shape that a full year could pass without a Cabinet meeting? Oh, and then there's the little issue of security clearance. As in, she doesn't have one. Yet somehow, she's speaking to the Cabinet on what we're all supposed to believe is some groundbreaking issue. As former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy pointed out, "The same number of people have voted for Jill Biden to be President as have voted for Kamala: zero." So why are we seeing this unelected First Lady exercising what looks suspiciously like presidential power? It's almost laughable. If this were Melania Trump, the media would've gone ballistic. We'd have a new scandal brewing every 30 seconds, and MSNBC would be having a collective meltdown. But since it's Jill Biden, they shrug it off. Media analyst Joe Concha rightly noted, "If this was Melania Trump, these same 'reporters' would melt into an unrecognizable pile of goo." The double standards are alive and well, folks. Commentator Mary Katharine Ham also chimed in with her biting observation: "Oh neat, an unelected person married to the mostly incapacitated elected president is overseeing the first Cabinet meeting in forever." Well, she's not wrong, is she? Between Biden's gaffes and Kamala's disappearing act, it's hard to tell who's actually running the show.
