Some of their colleagues were trying to make it harder for voters to amend Missouriâs constitution at the ballot box â all in an effort aimed at weakening our democracy and thwarting an upcoming potential ballot measure on abortion rights. Those lawmakers would rather stifle votersâ voices by changing the rules than actually listen to the people they were elected to serve. Together, we defeated an attempt to require up to 75% approval from voters for a ballot measure to pass. Now, if it feels like we're playing a game of whack-a-mole, it's no coincidence.
