PICTURE OF THE DAY
[Reading Aboard the 'Queen Mary'](
On May 20 aboard the RMS 'Queen Mary' while she was docked in Long Beach, Calif., readers posed for a photo at an event with author Susan Meissner and 90-year-old WWII war bride June Allen. The event, hosted by Adventures by the Book, was promoting Meissnerâs new novel, 'A Bridge Across the Ocean' (Berkley), which was inspired in part by Allenâs account of her experiences on a voyage on the 'Queen Mary' at the end of WWII to be reunited with her American soldier husband.
