It feels like beach season really just started here in Rhode Island and already we're being warned to be careful when entering the water. No sharks haven't descended on our beaches quite yet, but there is another species we're much more used to arriving each summer and making an appearance: the Portuguese man-of-war. The Journal's Alex Kuffner reports that the RI DEM has found the presence of the balloon-like creatures on Scarborough, East Matunuck and Roger Wheeler state beaches.
