[@Will_Richmond]( Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at [The Providence Journal]( and this is the Daily Briefing. When I was a senior in high school I was fortunate to land an internship with the Narragansett Times covering high school sports. At that point, I had wanted to become a sports reporter and this would give me the opportunity to get a feel for the job. I loved the work and ultimately went on to become a journalist, even if it wasn't in sports. Since then I've always encouraged kids to do whatever they can to gain experience in what they think they want to do as soon as possible. It's not just to provide fuel to continue forward in that field, but could also lead to changing your mind or finding a more specific focus. It seems what's happening at the Juanita Sanchez Life Sciences Institute is doing just that. The Journal's Jonny Williams recently visited the program that is preparing students to succeed in healthcare or medical sciences-related careers. Through the program, students are not only learning about the field, but what interests them, hopefully leading a life in the field. [01_Healthcare_09232024.JPG] Veasna Yean (left) and Josmeily Minier discuss what they are finding while examining hair follicles (Yeasna) and brain (Josmeily) cells under a microscope at the Juanita Sanchez Life Science Institute recently.
