The 300-acre site along the Exeter/North Kingstown line has served for decades as a place that offered outdoor experiences for Baptist children, but as the organization that organizes 67 Baptist churches in Rhode Island faces daunting debt, the land has a different type of value. It could be the answer to the funds needed to erase this deficit. For some in the church, it's not worth the price. The Journal's Tom Mooney recently spent time with those trying to save the camp from being sold. Through the process, there have been trips down memory lane and reunions.
