Will Richmond | Managing Editor Communities & R.I. [@Will_Richmond]( Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at [The Providence Journal]( and this is the Daily Briefing. Spending 14 years in Fall River I became pretty familiar with Portuguese feasts. From the large Holy Ghost feast at the end of August to the smaller ones held at various churches around the city, summer weekends were almost certainly an option. Of course, you'll find great food to go with the feast traditions but are those traditions in danger of going away? In West Warwick, where the annual Portuguese feast is happening this weekend, there is hope for continuing into the future. But it will take being led by the youth. The Journal's Jonny Williams spent time with feast organizers this week to learn more about the struggles they face to maintain interest in organizing the feast and what they're doing to help bring in crowds that will want to become part of the future. [IMG_6121.jpeg] Samantha Andrea, a board member of the Portuguese American Sports Club, works on a treasure chest for one of the feastâs floats on Wednesday, Aug. 28. A study has revealed that Rhode Island is the 21st easiest state to pass a written drivers test, while New York is the easiest. The study, conducted by personal injury lawyers [Whitley Law Firm]( analyzed data from [driving-tests.org]( and [drivingprep.com]( to compile an index based on factors such as the number of questions on a written test, the passing score of the test, and the days required to retake a test. These were converted into a weighted index with a maximum score of 100 to discover which states make passing a written driving test easier or harder.
