The legislation may have come to an end in June, but there's another step for many bills that could lend to a different outcome in the future. This is where study commissions come into play. In this week's Political Scene, Journal reporter Kathleen Gregg looks at the three Senate study commissions, five House study commissions and three joint commissions that will further examine topics such as climate change, beach erosion and public school transportation. O'Neill Bike Path was meant to be a connection to Narragansett Beach. Starting from the West Kingston Amtrak station, the path winds through South Kingstown until it stops near Narragansett Elementary School. For about 10 years now, the effort to reach the beach has eluded officials. That may soon change if the Town Council can agree on a route.
