I’m looking at a ratio spread trade in Walmart (WMT) that I covered at the beginning, followed by my current read of the markets, and even more trade ideas as the session went on. And don’t worry… I’m pricing these trades out to Oct. 4 to give them some time to move. We had a nice pop on the open after Retail Sales came out stronger than expected this morning, but the pop didn’t last as the S&P 500 touched the all-time record high before retreating ahead of the Fed. Will the market continue this push lower, putting in a bit of a top today? Probabilities still say the Fed is likely to cut 0.5% tomorrow, with a gap until November and then a 0.25% cut, followed by a final 0.5% cut likely for December. That would be a full 1.25% shaved off this year. I didn’t believe even a week ago that it would be a 50-point cut, but here we are. If it's less than that, the market will likely sell off on that news... I’m going to focus on price action rather than what Fed Chair Jerome Powell will say. Though, I am curious about how they can justify a 50-point cut right now. I have a couple more trades to discuss in today’s Final Hour market wrap-up, as well as live analysis of the major indices, Bitcoin, gold and more!
