A story about our start... ? Hi Friend! You know that feeling when you come up on a big milestone?

A story about our start...   Hi Friend! You know that feeling when you come up on a big milestone? Well, we’re there! Power the Vote was founded two years ago by me and the teammates I met in the ‘20 election in GA. [Help us celebrate our birthday by chipping in and supporting voter protection efforts in battleground states!]( During the ‘20 election I took a break from my job as a lawyer to volunteer full time with the voter protection team at the Democratic Party of Georgia. We developed a groundbreaking voter protection strategy that cured 15,870 likely Democratic ballots … in a state Joe Biden won by just 12,000 votes. Georgia would not have flipped blue without our voter protection program. I saw first-hand the awesome impact of this work, and I was hooked – energized – captivated. And for the first time in my life, I felt like a regular person like me could directly, and personally, make a difference. [DONATE]( Voter protection didn’t just flip Georgia and change the course of the country – it also changed the trajectory of my life. When I signed up to do the work in Georgia, I thought I was doing a six month tour of duty. But once I saw the impact of this work, there was no going back. I left a partner-track law firm gig behind to devote my life to fighting for voters and against voter suppression. Together with my cofounders, I founded Power the Vote to support permanent voter protection programs in battleground states: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas. When I say I’ve put everything on the line for this mission, I mean it. It’s worth it. But this work is only possible because of supporters like you. I still remember watching that very first donation come in two years ago. I jumped out of my chair – because that’s when I knew: I’m not alone in this work. People like you care just as much about fighting voter suppression. And working together, we’re doing amazing things for our democracy. That was two years ago, this week! (Boy time flies…) Since that time, literally thousands of folks just like you have come alongside and supported this work. So in honor of our second birthday, [I hope you’ll join them and chip in to power our mission.]( you do, you’ll know that you’re directly supporting voter protection – whether that’s getting someone’s ballot cured, or answering a voter’s call at a hotline, or holding local elections officials accountable. You’re directly supporting democracy, and that’s a beautiful thing. Thanks in advance for helping Power the Vote and making this work possible. In solidarity~ Kim Allen, Co-founder, Power the Vote [DONATE!]( [We Fund Voter Protection]( In 2020, we ran the Democratic Party’s Voter Protection Program in Georgia, when the state flipped blue for the first time in nearly 30 years. We pioneered a new model of voter protection, built on sustained investments and long-lasting relationships. Now, we’re building on that success and adapting the Georgia model to fight voter suppression in other battleground states. But we can only do it with your support. Join us – and join the fight for voter protection!
