The Google Pixel Tablet is now available and [I've fully reviewed it](, but the Hub Mode didn't really live up to expectations. Why does it matter? The Google Pixel Tablet comes with the Charging Speaker Dock which makes your tablet more like a smart display, but the software support isn't great. What's my take? In some ways the Pixel Tablet is great - it's a pure Android tablet, there's more optimisation to take advantage of the larger screen space and there's a clever dock so you can do something with it when you're not using it. But I'm not sold on the final result with the docked tablet. The so-called Hub Mode is little more than a glorified screen saver: I was expecting a fully customisable widget-based experience like the Nest Hub, but that's not what we get. That strikes me as rather odd. Google teased the tablet in May 2022 and took a full year to bring it to market. It's sold with the dock in the box - but the experience it offers feels a little half-baked. Was there not enough time to make it more exciting?  SPONSORED The RS2 is the highlight of EZVIZâs brilliant new cleaning robot family EZVIZ Robot vacuums are becoming more commonplace thanks to their efficiency and convenience. Thanks to its hands-free omni-charging dock, you can truly sit back and relax while the RS2 does the hard work for you. HTC, best known for laying out the landscape for modern Android phones in the early 2010s, now focuses most of its energy into VR headsets. Having been one of the big players in premium VR with the original HTC Vive, that family of devices has expanded over the years with several new devices carrying on a solid trend. The Vive Pro 2 was one of the more recent offerings and a great piece of kit for PCVR. But now the HTC Vive XR Elite steps into new territory, evolving HTC's previous mobile solution, removing the wires and creating a versatile lightweight standalone headset. We got our hands on it at CES 2023 and, more recently, I've had it in for a thorough real-world testing. Verdict The next-gen headset from HTC offers a versatile design, able to be standalone or connected, with a hot-swappable battery. It's nice and light, while the front RGB camera offer a great passthrough experience to support its XR skills. It's expensive, however, so much will depend on the pipeline of content for this headset.
