Amid rumours that Apple will ditch physical buttons on the iPhone 15 Pro, a [report adds further fuel]( to the fire thanks to supplier comments. Why does it matter? Barclays analysts Blayne Curtis and Tom O'Malley believe that Apple's button-less iPhone 15 Pro is now more real than ever. What's my take? There are various reasons why Apple might want to remove all buttons. Fewer components mean less to break, while also providing a technological solution. Rumors suggest that instead of physical buttons there will be haptic areas. It's not a new idea: there's a number of gaming phones that offer "[air triggers](" that do exactly this - and they work well enough. There are questions though: how well will haptic buttons work when the phone is in a case? And, when it all goes horribly wrong, how will you force it to restart? We're sure Apple will find a clever way.  Mercedes-Benz just paywalled your EV's performance mode POCKET-LINT What's happened? Mercedes-Benz is now [charging a subscription]( that unlocks the full power of some EVs, with the EQE and EQS two examples gaining an annual fee. Why does it matter? The subscription, which costs $1,200 before tax, will give acceleration a boost as well as include an "adjustment of the motor characteristic curve, torque, and maximum output". What's my take? It was Tesla who first offered to unlock features on a car for an additional payment - leading to everyone to realise that they'd bought a higher-spec car than they originally thought. It makes sense when it comes to manufacturing: rather than making loads of variants, make fewer and use software to deliver the car the customer orders. But, it's a hard sell to customers, as they will then know they have access to more, but they can't have it unless they pay up. Will we see the rise of people hacking their car for better performance? Modding cars is nothing new, but it might be a lot more digital in the future.  A MESSAGE FROM OUR SPONSORS 5 best Roborock robot vacuum Black Friday deals Roborock is one of the leading manufacturers of robot vacuums, and its products are highly sought-after for their quality and performance. Google has offered a mesh network system for a while now, having started with Google Wifi and then progressing to the more feature-packed Nest Wifi solution after its acquisiton of the smart home brand. The one thing that ties them together though is simplicity - both are easy to install and use, especially in comparison with some others on the market. Now Google has gone one better, with its fastest, most simple to set up system yet - the Nest Wifi Pro. Our quick verdict In the Nest Wifi Pro system, Google has presented a fuss-free way to upgrade your home network to Wi-Fi 6E and tri-band - one that will boost your speeds and stability, especially if you are upgrading from an older mesh setup. There are those that will lament the loss of built-in Google Assistant and the lack of compatibility with legacy hardware, but it works well, looks nice around the home (regardless of each point's size), and is simple to install. Range is decent too, even in older homes that may usually present a challenge. [Read our review](.  In Case You Missed it This is an incredible [Google Pixel 6a Black Friday deal](. --- Tesla [opens Full Self-Driving beta to all]( - safety score be damned. --- [Black Friday 2022 deals are now live]( with 30% off Blink Video Doorbells, $250 savings on Roomba, 57% price cut on Beats, $200 discount on MacBooks, 20% off Sennheiser and much more.  From The Gear Loop SMITH The best ski sunglasses: Stylish shades that offer serious protection.
