Qualifications SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidates resume and application must reflect one year of specialized experience equivalent at least the next lower grade level in the NNSA pay band or GS grade level in the Federal Service i.e., NN-03 or GS-13. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience with technical management and coordination of design and engineering projects, experience with project management responsibilities for proposed and ongoing projects, experience evaluating technologies for potential application in assigned projects, experience communicating sensitive or controversial issues in writing and orally with technical and management personnel. The Specialized Experience for this position includes: - Overseeing and directing the design and engineering of exceptionally difficult and complex mission critical projects ensure they meet design requirements and are constructed in accordance with approved designs as well as with requirements associated with nuclear security. - Ensuring adequate consideration is given standards and regulatory requirements applicable safe and sound operation of systems and platforms while planning, developing, and managing assigned projects. Preferred candidates would also have the following: - Budget processes including invoicing, payments, tracking and planning - Various databases including engineering estimate and systems - Various software packages including Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Project, and Teams - Preparing for, conducting, and documenting facility condition assessments "Experience" refers paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service Programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications one of the branches of engineering.
