Hello Pick The Brain Community!! I spent the better part of two years researching and writing about how women could be more productive - in the most authentic sense of the word - in my first book, How To Get Shit Done: Why Women Need To Stop Doing Everything So They Can Achieve Anything. I spent the next year trying to come up with the follow up. I searched and searched and nothing really resonated with me. It wasn't until I woke up from a dream, early one morning, when I was left with one clear phrase: 'how to break up with your friends', that my course changed. For the better part of two days, I couldn't shake this phrase. It kept reappearing and reappearing in my consciousness. Finally, irritated, I stopped and said out loud, 'What is this about??' It was only then, that I had an epiphany. I started to look at my friendships - really take stock - I found that I had built up many irritations or resentments, and also felt a longing for other relationships that I had been missing, but not been aware. I started to see an entire world of potential untapped energy and support - energy and support that I needed so badly - emerge in these very important, but often overlooked relationships: our friendships. I began to do a deep dive on the all the ways that I could foster, tweak, or remove these friendships to create the most solid network of support - a place where I could really feel seen and heard, and where I could do the important work of seeing and hearing others. It would prove to be one of the most valuable experiments of my life! To find out how you can do the same - I'm so proud to share with you, my latest book: How To Break Up with Your Friends: Finding Meaning, Connection and Boundaries - in essence a love letter to modern friendship and it's power to reveal the best version of you!
