As you may know, my new book, [How To Break Up With Your Friends: Finding Meaning, Connection and Boundaries in Modern Friendship]( (Sounds True) is officially out January 18th! Part of me is excited to write this email to you, and the other part feels vulnerable and exposed as I officially introduce the book to the world. I sold this latest title Feb 23, 2020. I thought this topic was important then. Three weeks later we went into quarantine. I couldn’t imagine the impact it would have across the board, but specifically in how we viewed our friendships. Nearly two years later, as we slowly start to emerge back out into the wilds of social engagement, there are even more questions. How do I really want to spend my time and with whom? Do you want to continue spending your time in mediocre relationships that suck the energy from you - taking more than they give? We had these important people that we loved ripped away from us, now as we reunite, how will we make the best choices to create the strongest network of support around us - we need it now more than ever. When was the last time you took an audit of the friendships in your life? The title suggests a Marie Kondo-ing of your relationships, and in my view this is necessary for myriad of reasons, but the essence of this book is a love letter to the relationships that have the potential to be some of our most foundational, enduring and endearing…if we do them right. I’m grateful to everyone who has influenced and helped me get to this moment - especially my beloved Pick The Brain community. Releasing a book to the world takes a village and I’m turning to you for your help in this final push. Here are some ways you can help: PRE-ORDER the Book Now: This is the single most important way to help, both because I hope you will read and enjoy the book and because in order for it to show up in bookstores, the number of pre-orders really makes a difference in getting this book in the hands of the people who need it most. You can pre-order from : [Amazon]( [Barnes & Noble]( [Sounds True]( [Indie Bound]( [Book Shop]( If you’re considering buying this book for a friend, now is the perfect time! SHARE with Your Community: We all live in networks of connection and this is a perfect opportunity to deepen your personal and spiritual relationships. Let’s build a genuine community around this book together! I’d be deeply grateful if you would consider mentioning the book on social media, or in your blog or email newsletter if you have one. Sharing a photo of you with your copy is also a nice personal way to let people know how much you love it! READ This Book Together with a Friend, Your Book Club or a Larger Organization Consider purchasing an additional copy or a few and get together with friends to read this book together and begin to bring more compassion and wisdom into your wider community! Thank you all for your great support throughout this journey. We have a few weeks to go and I am so excited to hear what you think! This book is so needed in the world and I appreciate any way you can help - big or small.
