02/27/24 By Spencer Cox This review covers everything you need to know about the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L, one of the first four lenses ever made for Canon's EOS R mirrorless system. It's the spiritual successor of the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L Mark II from 2016 (and the original version from 2005)... 02/25/24 By Libor Vaicenbacher In last week’s Photography News, I mischievously let you guess which lens I used for my opening photo. The mysterious and somewhat unusual lens was successfully identified as a spotting scope for bird sighting. Today, I have a similar challenge for you, only the answer this time is a little easier. If your detective work is successful, you will find out the identity of a lens that we’ll be reviewing soon. But now, onto the latest announcements from this week, which brought a lot of exciting news to the photography world. 02/25/24 By Alex Coleman Most photographers and videographers are used to capturing images/video onto an in-camera storage device, offloading it to a portable hard drive, and later offloading it again onto a desktop system. SanDisk's recent product line, the Pro-Blade, aims to unify these different methods of data management for pro users. Now we stand a decade later, which is a very long time in the evolution of technology. Since then, four more generations have been born in the Fujifilm family, leaving us with the X-T5 and it’s siblings, the X-H2 and X-H2s. Today, I wanted to look at these current models through the prism of a wildlife photographer. 02/18/24 By Libor Vaicenbacher An interesting software program (a review of which you will soon be able to read) prompted me this week to dive into the greatest depths of my archives. Our fascination with modern technology sometimes makes us forget that how often great photos were taken with – by today’s standards – prehistoric equipment. The image that I share in this Photography News is special for another reason: the lens that I used. If you can guess what it is, I invite you for a glass of wine in Prague! But now, onto this week’s news. [Read More...]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [Photographing Critically-Endangered Fijian Iguanas: A Trip Report](
02/17/24 By Nicholas Hess Thousands of miles from their nearest iguanid relatives, and across the Pacific Ocean, live the marvelous, critically-endangered Fijian iguanas. I was fortunate to find and photograph two of these species during my time in Fiji. With their extreme rarity and remote populations, almost no high-quality photographs of wild specimens are published.
