(Getty images) Teeing Off TEXAS TWO-STEP: KOKRAK WINS AGAIN IN LONE STAR STATE They say everything is bigger in Texas. And Big Jason Kokrak agrees. Kokrak won the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Houston Open by two shots on Sunday to earn his second TOUR title in Texas. His previous win came last season at the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth. “I made some putts and that’s what kept me in it,” said Kokrak, 36, whose other TOUR win came at THE CJ CUP @ SHADOW CREEK last season. “That back nine, if you hit a lot of fairways, you can get after it … I made some nice putts and I picked and choosed where I wanted to be.” And oh what a back nine it was. Memorial Park Golf Course played tough all week, but Kokrak ran off four straight birdies on Nos. 13-16 to build a slight cushion and finished with a final-round 5-under-65. It was all he needed. Kokrak earned 500 FedExCup points and moved up 181 spots to No. 7 in the standings. It was merely two World Golf Hall of Famers who see age as just a number and who continue to see their trophy cases expand. Mickelson won for the fourth time in six starts on PGA TOUR Champions, but he wasn’t in the mix for the season-long Schwab Cup, which was awarded to Langer after a Super Season which spanned 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. Langer, 64, beat his age on Saturday (63) in Phoenix and finished solo 17th to accrue enough points to hoist the season-ending trophy once again.
