With books to celebrate Juneteenth, Pride, and music! [View In Browser]( [Penguin Random House]( [All Ways Black] [Cree Myles] Cree Myles, Founding Editor of [All Ways Black]( I would like to make a motion that we designate June as the unofficial-official second Black History Month. I bring this to the Black delegation humbly and, admittedly, with only anecdotal evidence, but what did Audre say? My silence will not protect me. Firstly, June is the foremost month of the year when all of us, despite our region, can barbecue in tandem. From the redwood forests to the Gulf Stream waters, this land was made to smoke mesquite ... or whatever Guthrie said. Secondly, it’s Black Music Month! Enter my shameless plug for our [Word of the Week Blitz]( happening on All Ways Black’s IG. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, it’s Juneteenth; a marked opportunity to reflect on the power, persistence, and pride we come from. Have I convinced you yet? Happy Juneteenth. Happy Pride. Happy Black History Month. Happy reading!
