On Joe Rogan's podcast this week, Rogan dropped a little tidbit that's likely to raise a few eyebrows. Apparently, Vice President Kamala Harris was "supposed to" appear on his show but has yet to make an appearance. In a rare interview with former President Donald Trump, Rogan explained that Harris had initially agreed to come on, and he still holds out some hope that she might actually follow through. But Trump didn't seem as optimistic. "She'd be laying on the floor," Trump quipped. Rogan, ever the optimist, replied, "I could imagine," acknowledging that Harris had indeed been scheduled but hadn't made any moves to sit down and chat. Rogan, always game to talk with anyone and everyone, insisted he'd approach Harris as he does any guest: with an open mind, aiming to have a "conversation with her, as a human being." The idea, he said, was to let her be herself without trying to grill her, as he has successfully done with countless guests across the spectrum. But Trump didn't buy it. "If she did this kind of interview with you, it would be a mess," Trump said, imagining what he clearly believes would be Harris floundering under the pressure of unscripted questions. Trump, known for his off-the-cuff responses, has never been one to let a good joke go, adding, "She'd be laying on the floor, comatose. You'd be saying, call in the medics." Rogan laughed but held out hope that Harris would be up for an honest, direct conversation, something she's been largely avoiding since hitting the campaign trail. ?? [pic.twitter.com/jAiCCCwApl]( - Ryan Saavedra (@RealSaavedra) [October 26, 2024]( It's clear that the idea of Harris sitting down for an interview with Rogan, who's known for long-form, unscripted conversations, would be a fascinating-and probably revealing-turn of events. Unlike the pre-scripted political interviews she's used to, Rogan's style leaves no room for rehearsed soundbites or avoiding difficult questions. His approach is, frankly, what makes him the biggest name in podcasting. But here's the real question: will Harris ever actually do it? Let's just say the odds seem about as likely as her polling numbers climbing among independents. Rogan emphasized he's not looking for a "gotcha" moment; he just wants to understand who Harris really is, something millions of voters are curious about, too. But given Harris's track record, it's no surprise that she's steering clear of venues where she'd have to genuinely answer for her policies and track record. Let's face it-avoiding real conversations has practically become her campaign strategy. For now, it looks like Harris would rather stick to controlled environments, leaving Rogan's invite [unanswered](. And honestly, it's hard to blame her: a genuine, unscripted conversation on the Joe Rogan Experience might be the most illuminating-and potentially uncomfortable-conversation of her career.
