Vice President Kamala Harris called a surprise press conference from the Naval Observatory, and what did she have for us? Yet another tired comparison of Donald Trump to H**ler. You'd think after years of dragging this one out, they'd try something new. But no, Harris and her team rolled out the same "Trump is H**ler" line that's been echoing through left-wing media since the guy announced his candidacy back in 2015. Clearly, this is their October surprise-a recycled, discredited story that somehow ties Trump to a slain U.S. soldier, a tale that has already been debunked. And boy, is the reaction from the right on fire. Vice President Kamala Harris addresses The Atlantic report on former President Donald Trump. READ MORE: [( [pic.twitter.com/i6dj6dqdj5]( - The National Desk (@TND) [October 23, 2024]( Megyn Kelly didn't waste any time ripping into this stunt, pointing out the obvious. "Their closing message is all about Trump and H**ler," she wrote on X. "Can you imagine how alarming their internal polls are?" And honestly, can you blame her? When your go-to strategy this late in the game is to rehash a narrative that's been debunked and dismissed countless times, it's clear you're in panic mode. Harris has been struggling in the polls, and this latest attempt to get some traction is almost laughable. Ezra Cohen hit the nail on the head, calling it "Classic DC swamp playbook." Plant a fake story, let it fester in the media, and then use it as ammunition. We've seen this before with the Steele dossier fiasco. Same tricks, different election. The snark didn't stop there. Jesse Kelly, never one to hold back, chimed in with, "The Harris campaign has a billion dollars, an army of consultants, months to work on a plan, and the October surprise was the same 'Trump is H**ler!' drivel we've been hearing since he came down the escalator in 2015. This campaign ain't gonna make it." Ouch. But he's not wrong. You'd think that with all the resources and time they have, the Harris team would come up with something a bit more original and effective. Even Ben Shapiro piled on, pointing out the irony of Harris attacking Trump over anti-Semitism while the administration seems to be dragging its feet on aiding Israel in its fight against groups that literally agree with H**ler's ideology. And of course, Harris took no questions and walked away after her speech. Classic. The bottom line? This isn't a campaign in control. Outkick's Clay Travis summed it up perfectly when he said, "Kamala just called a press conference to call Trump H**ler. This is all they have. She's going to lose the popular vote. Keep early voting. The panic is palpable. She's cooked." Monica Crowley echoed the same sentiment, calling Harris' remarks "grotesque lies" and labeling the whole spectacle "real desperation." It's not hard to see why. Joe Concha chimed in, pointing out the absurdity of Harris citing a disputed story from a journalist with a terrible reputation, then not bothering to say a word about her own policies-or even take questions. Not exactly the "game-changer" she probably hoped for. But the real bombshell came from Mollie Hemingway and others who speculated that this kind of language is laying dangerous groundwork. When you repeatedly call someone a fascist and whip your base into a frenzy, are you surprised when things get violent? It's happened before, and the more Harris escalates her rhetoric, the more this concern grows. Charlie Kirk didn't mince words either, pointing out that Harris was weaponizing a debunked story to suggest Trump is in league with H**ler. "They're going to get Trump killed," he warned. Trump's own campaign team didn't hold back either, with Communications Director Steven Cheung calling Harris "a stone-cold loser" whose campaign is "in shambles." He also reminded everyone that her dangerous rhetoric has already led to assassination attempts against Trump-and she's still fanning those flames for political gain. CNN's Brianna Keilar was not ready for [@MichaelGWaltz]( to spit facts on the John Kelly news cycle... [Desperation](, recycled attacks, and no answers on policy? It's no wonder the polls aren't moving in her favor.
