It all started last night on The Beat when things got a little too hot under the collar during their on-air clash. But, of course, Lewandowski wasn't about to let it end there. Nope, today he's back at it, taking his grievances to Twitter-or should I say, X-where he's doubling down and claiming victory in what he's calling a battle against "Fake News." Let's rewind a bit. During Wednesday's showdown, Melber grilled Lewandowski about his testimony to the House Judiciary Committee. Instead of giving a straight answer, Lewandowski decided to go on the offensive, accusing Melber of previously calling Trump's bandage a "prop" and saying it was all just for show. Melber, clearly not in the mood for games, fired back that the "prop" comment wasn't his but a reference from a New York Times article, which he read on-air. According to Melber, Fox News had twisted the facts, and Lewandowski was parroting that same distortion. And here's where it gets juicy. Melber sternly warned Lewandowski that repeating this "false quote" could land him in a defamation suit. "I'm putting you on notice," Melber said, in a tone that probably had Lewandowski rolling his eyes. But did that scare Lewandowski off? Not a chance. This morning, he posted a clip from a previous episode of The Beat, linking to a Breitbart article, in a clear attempt to prove his point. In the clip, [Melber]( discusses Trump being his "own biggest prop" at the Republican National Convention, with a passing mention of the bandage as part of the spectacle. [pic.twitter.com/Q97AnkWWah]( - Corey R. Lewandowski (@CLewandowski_) [August 29, 2024]( Lewandowski's not backing down, though. His X post today was full of bravado, declaring, "We're going to keep exposing and holding the Fake News-especially MSNBC-accountable for their lies and bogus attacks on President @realDonaldTrump. And if they threaten us with defamation, we'll double down with the FACTS." We're going to keep exposing and holding the Fake News - especially MSNBC - accountable for their lies and bogus attacks on President [@realDonaldTrump](. And if they threaten us with defamation, we'll double down with the FACTS.[( - Corey R. Lewandowski (@CLewandowski_) [August 29, 2024]( As for MSNBC? They're keeping quiet, probably hoping this storm blows over. But knowing Lewandowski, he's not going to let this one go quietly into the night. Stay tuned, folks, because the saga of Lewandowski vs. Melber is far from over, and in the world of political media, the drama never disappoints.
