The internet is buzzing with reports out of Springfield, Ohio, claiming that Haitian migrants are eating pets and park animals-geese, ducks, and yes, even cats. Now, how much of that is true? Well, as with most things in today's media landscape, the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Local residents have testified at city council meetings, saying they've witnessed [migrants]( killing ducks and geese. At the same time, that viral video of a woman eating a cat? Turns out, it wasn't even from Springfield, and local police say they haven't received any calls about such incidents. But here's the thing: a photo of a migrant carrying a dead goose has made the rounds, and it adds some weight to these claims. Are they eating cats? Who knows at this point, but I'll leave that to the internet sleuths to figure out. Meanwhile, the internet has done what it does best-turn this into meme fodder, with images of Donald Trump heroically saving ducks and kittens spreading faster than Joe Biden can forget what state he's in. It's funny, it's a bit ridiculous, but it highlights a very real issue. There's only one man that can save the cats from being eaten by Kamala's failed border policy! [pic.twitter.com/rVskNtPvRj]( - Rose Knows (@realRoseKnows) [September 10, 2024]( And that brings us to the real problem: Biden's disastrous policies. His Temporary Protected Status order has been flooding small communities with migrants, and when residents say it's overwhelming them, maybe-just maybe-we should believe them. But of course, some people have taken great offense to the jokes. Enter Rep. Eric Swalwell, the walking embodiment of misplaced outrage. This is the same guy who got catfished by a Chinese spy, and now he's losing his mind over a meme during a House Judiciary Committee hearing. Picture this: Swalwell, mid-hearing, spittle flying everywhere as he absolutely loses it. "What in the hell is this?!" he screams, referring to a meme shared by Rep. Jim Jordan. The meme, by the way, was a harmless joke about protecting ducks and kittens in Ohio. But Swalwell, always eager to grandstand, accuses Jordan of tweeting "nonsense" and even brings up Kanye West for some reason, rambling on about genocide and aliens. I mean, is this guy for real? The fact that someone like Swalwell holds public office is a masterclass in how low the standards have gotten in certain districts. Eric Swalwell just had a FULL ON MELTDOWN about cat memes... "What in the hell is this?!" [pic.twitter.com/lWrj9Cq0XD]( - Townhall.com (@townhallcom) [September 10, 2024]( Let's get one thing straight: Jim Jordan shared the meme because it was funny. It wasn't part of the hearing; it wasn't meant to derail anything. But Swalwell, triggered to the moon and back, decided to turn it into a full-blown meltdown. Why? Because heaven forbid anyone makes a joke at the Biden administration's expense. Cc [@RepSwalwell]( [( [pic.twitter.com/uqet2i0N47]( - Prison Mitch (@MidnightMitch) [September 10, 2024]( This whole episode is exactly what's wrong with Washington. We've got people like Swalwell, who can't even handle a joke, turning a serious hearing into a soapbox for their insecurities. He hijacks the moment, not to bring attention to any real issues, but to get his 15 minutes of fame on CNN. It's pathetic, and frankly, it shows just how unserious so many of our so-called "leaders" really are.
