The award is given to a festival film that focuses on themes of social change and youth empowerment. The film will open the [Chicago Film Festival]( on October 11th. WE GROWN NOW is set in 1992 Chicago, and as Michael Jordan solidifies a legacy, a story of two young legends in their own right begins. Best friends Malik and Eric navigate the joys and hardships of growing up in Chicago's public housing project, Cabrini-Green. We can't wait for you to watch this powerful social drama about unconditional friendship, boyhood innocence, and hope.
