Award-winning filmmaker Margaret Brown returns to her hometown of Mobile, Alabama, to document the discovery of the Clotilda, the last known slave ship to arrive in the U.S. – 52 years after the international slave trade was declared a federal crime, punishable by death. The film exposes the way the crime was covered up and the racial injustices that persist to this day in Alabama. To celebrate the release of the film last week, the residents of Mobile had the opportunity to attend a premiere, complete with a Q&A with the filmmakers.
