Get Trump, Whatever the Price [The Daily FWD] May 30, 2024 [UNSUBSCRIBE]( Watergate All Over Again Hi Reader, Welcome to a special edition of the Daily FWD! Our editors all got together this week at the — now famous — Watergate Hotel. Of course, being at Watergate brings up a LOT… especially when you think about the persecution of the president back then… and think about what’s happening now with Trump. Jim Rickards, Zach Scheidt, Andrew Zatlin, Sean Ring, Dan Amoss and Byron King sat down for a discussion on what’s happening in today’s political landscape and gave how THEY would play these tumultuous markets. They also talked about where America is failing right now… and their hopes for America’s future. You can check out the replay of our Whisky Bar discussion by [clicking here](. Here’s what our editors are looking at today… [Click here to learn more]( News: Jim Rickards – Trump and Nixon We all know about the non-stop lawfare attacks on Donald Trump. You might like Trump or hate him, but it shouldn’t matter. Every American who cares about justice and the rule of law should be concerned about them. It corrodes the system of justice that’s long been a source of national pride. Besides being a financial analyst, I’m also an attorney with a deep understanding of constitutional law. It shouldn’t happen in the United States, period, regardless of political orientation. It shouldn’t be a partisan issue. But unfortunately, Democrats have chosen to open Pandora’s box. Beyond the current lawfare, Democrats moved against Trump from the very beginning, in cooperation with the deep state. JFKed stands for “Just F*cking Killed.” None of us there cared about Watergate much. To us, Nixon’s unpardonable crime was taking the USD off the gold standard in what’s now called The Nixon Shock. [⇒ Read More Here]( [Click here to learn more]( America: Dave Gonigam – From Watergate to Reagan and Back Again Reagan appointed a U.S. Gold Commission early during his first term to investigate whether the United States should return to some sort of gold backing for the U.S. dollar. In the end, the Commission voted 15-2 against. (Rep. Ron Paul was one of the two dissenters.) During his second term, Reagan granted a one-on-one interview to Novak at the White House. When Reagan was asked: “What ever happened to the gold standard? I thought you supported it.” “Well,” the president began and then paused (a ploy he frequently used to collect his thoughts), “I still do support the gold standard, but —” [⇒ Read More Here]( That’s all for today, we’ll be back tomorrow with what our editors were looking at this week.
