VIX acts normal for a day The pundits have a field day but for whatever reason stocks are recovering

The bigger reason is that DJT is starting to look better in the polls and in the betting lines. Once the election was a toss up 3 weeks, VIX went up getting ready for the inevitable volatility buildup around the election date on Nov06. Stock even ignored bond prices and yields started to rally again. As for today, stocks bounced and VIX dropped without a corresponding rise in volatility. That is a sign things are looking close to normal and Election Madness is taking a break. The fact that there are laws in the USA that preclude knowing election results the day of the election, due to acceptable delays in ballots, strike me as crazy but that is our Republic. [ded] As a reminder ATM volatility in the SPY went to 49% on the strikes around the 2020 election. Things were a bit different then under the various COVID lockdowns still going on in some states. I priced the Dec Volatility in SPY as relatively high this am during the Trading Desk session. It has backed off a bit into the close. For now DJT is in the betting lead and the market likes it. - AG [logo, pit profits] Want to find YOUR winning fit? Wall Street trading desks including Goldman Sachs, are now recommending the trades I have been suggesting for months … And they have been consistent winners … The lowest risk/highest reward trade has been selling US Treasury (UST) Bonds … And the iShares 20+ maturity UST Bonds ETF (Ticker: TLT) provides a deeply liquid ETF vehicle for expressing this strategy. What makes this strategy such an easy winner, you say? [Well, today we will review the reason behind the strategy and what trades should produce the greatest results into the end of the year.]( - Bill --------------------------------------------------------------- Never miss an edition of Bill Griffo's Power Income Newsletter ever again. But we have seen and you can too, if you are in the northern hemisphere, the Tsuchinshan-ATLAS Comet. It is amazing! [FPIP] My husband took this photo with his iPhone using a three second exposure next to Naples PIer on October 14th. It is 46 million miles away and traveling at 150,000 miles per hour. The head of the comet is two miles in diameter and the tail is believed to be 18 million miles long made up of tiny pieces of ice and dust. Based on its trajectory and calculated orbit it will not return for another 80,000 years. Think about that, it will be moving 150,000 miles an hour for 80,000 years. The closest it came to us was on October 12th at 44 million miles away. Tsuchinshan-ATLAS is named after the two observatories that spotted it first, Tsuchinshan in China and ATLAS or Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System in South Africa. This comet is the brightest in a decade but not as bright as Hale-Bopp in 1997 which was 37 miles in diameter with a tail of 31 million miles long and 120 million miles away at its closest. We actually saw Hale-Bopp while we were in the pure darkness of rural Arkansas and it was incredible; almost unreal in size and brightness. Peak viewing of Tsuchinshan-ATLAS is until October 26th. It is moving away from the earth so you need to get out there and look in the western sky after sunset. Pretty darn cool. You know what else is cool? Voz and Hannah!
