Pit Stop [fstp, logo, header] September 9, 2024 [ag views, logo, header] AAPL not providing a lot of love before, during or after the iPhone release We have some larger numbers this week in CPI and PPI but I don’t think they have the same effect as the others. At this point I don't think anyone is anticipating any surprises. The quick rate hikes cooled the consumer and mostly traders are looking for clues to a soft landing which could still give VIX a shot. The bigger surprise was Apple Inc (Ticker: AAPL) traded week all day and rallied a bit. The big iPhone release appears to be baked in. [ded] 5 day AAPL chart It would not surprise me if AAPL gives up a little more here. I will look for cheap downside in the Trading Desk Tuesday. --------------------------------------------------------------- [volman, vol man, vol,] Hey Pit Crazies, The newest edition of Vol Man is available! I’ll discuss fundamentals, Licia will analyze the charts, and AG will break down the volatility. It's been a big year for Warren Buffett. He has sold a huge portion of his AAPL position (while still maintaining it as his largest holding).   He is actively selling Bank of America at a torrid pace. Capital One Financial is being sold at an even quicker pace. SnowFlake and Paramount, he is out of all of it. He even sold Chevron. On the buy side, from his top 10 holdings he only added 2 positions. We are going to examine one of these…this stock is in the gutter, should you be buying it with Warren? Both companies reported financial struggles stemming from inflation and a weaker job market. Dollar Tree, for example, slashed its annual forecasts which was driven by consumers shifting their spending toward essential, low-margin items and reducing discretionary purchases. Dollar General's stock suffered a nearly 30% drop after missing its second-quarter earnings expectations. The company also revised its full-year outlook downward, with revenue and profit growth lower than expected. [Today we will take a deeper dive into the depressed forecasts and what to expect from markets …Â]( - Bill --------------------------------------------------------------- Never miss an edition of Bill Griffo's Power Income Newsletter ever again. [Click this link to sign up!](  [fpip] Running for the Exits … Everywhere! Hi Shoppers, WOW! Friday was a pretty ugly sell off almost everywhere. The S&P 500 was down 1.73%. $QQQ lost 2.68%. $IWM shed 1.90%. And they all closed just a smidge off the lows of the day. Those are some big red bearish candles. Not only did the indices feel the pain but Crude oil has just been getting pounded: [FPIP] I will be watching for a change in trend candle here as it has traded down to my support at $67. No escape for Bitcoin (Ticker: BTCUSD) either as it was down 5.62% (this is written on Friday). Even Gold futures were down, three quarters of a percent, but holding support here. Not looking so hot for next week.
