Daily Pit Stop [fstp, logo, header] August 8, 2024 [ag views, logo, header] It was the Carry Bomb not the Gamma Bomb, AG!!!!! Paraphrasing Mark- I had a question in the chat when Mark was going over the Japan Carry Trade and why it caused so many problems. I thought it could have sparked a Gamma Bomb type trade but looking at it, I was not correct. For a couple of reasons:. We did not hit the limit down in SPX on forced SPX O DTE closes. Ugly open but that was it. SPX IV was already in the high teens when it hit so the short vol traders already started pulling back last week. SPX low tick on Monday morning and rallied, VIX did the opposite. No force liquidation in the product during the day. What we ended up with was forced liquidation due to other causes in other places. Now I guess we have the Carry Bomb. It appears that the mess was a 24-48 hr problem. The economy still might suck but it appears 5000 SPX is not happening on Wednesday. It does mean when these outside crowded trades get too big, SPX can be a mess for a short period of time. [ded] It also will set up a great Barclays IPath Series B Short Term VIX ETN (Ticker: VXX) trade. If we break 24 VIX, we will be looking at 20 VIX in a hurry. You will want Mark’s signal for VXX. [Check that out here.]( - AG  [logo, pit profits] Want to find YOUR winning fit?
