[Option Beast]( 11/20/2021 | [View in browser]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [IRM Stock Could Provide Extra Yield With This Options Strategy]( Iron Mountain (IRM) is showing some decent ratings and setting up a cup-with-handle pattern on its chart. A cash-secured put on IRM stock can bring a little income to your account or get you into the stock at a discount. IRM is the global leader for storage and information management solutions. The company helps customers reduce costs and mitigate the risks associated with protection and storage of their information assets. Back in 2014, IRM got approval to convert its business to a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) structure back in 2014. Sure, it provides services like shredding. But storage rental revenue accounts for over 63% of total revenue, according to the company's third-quarter earnings report. With an outlook of just slightly bullish on IRM stock, a cash-secured put may be preferred over owning the stock outright. A cash-secured put involves writing an at-the-money or out-of-the-money put option and simultaneously setting aside enough cash to buy the stock. If the stock goes up, sideways or down slightly by the Jan. 21 expiration date, the put expires worthless and you keep the premium. A nice little income play. The Labor Department said the consumer-price index, which measures what consumers pay for goods and services-rose 6.2% last month from a year ago. That was the 'fastest' 12 month pace since 1990 and the fifth straight month of inflation above 5%. The core price index (CPI) which excludes the often-volatile categories of food and energy , climbed 4.6% in October from a year earlier, higher than September's 4% rise and the largest since 1991. Price increases were across-the-board, including autos, gasoline, and other energy, furniture and medical care, the Labor Department said. Prices for groceries and dining out were the most in decades. And, as always, when we reach this time of year, I'm reflecting on what I've accomplished since January and thinking about what I'd like to do with my money in the months to come. If you're feeling similarly, now is a good time to check in with your finances and plan any changes you might want to make next year, says Sonya Mughal, CEO of Bailard, an independent boutique wealth and asset management firm in the Bay Area. "Financial checkups should be treated the same way as an annual [checkup] at the doctor," Mughal says. "Sometimes we forget to make the time, but it's critical to touch base with yourself, your family and your advisor." With that in mind, here are a few tasks advisors recommend tackling as part of your financial checkup before the start of 2022. It runs the gamut from occasional help with cooking and cleaning to around-the-clock care provided in a nursing home setting. While analysis from the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College shows that nearly one in five retirees won't need any long-term services and supports, a large percentage of people who do need this type of care will struggle to pay for it. In fact, more than a third of retirees won't be able to pay for even minimal needs, like hiring someone to help prepare meals, without running out of money.
